Ciders & Coolers
What's the difference between a cider and a cooler?
All ciders begin by fermenting an apple juice base, while the coolers begin with a white wine base. Your choice of fruit juice is added after the base has fermented and we will mix it as dry or as sweet as you want! Flavour-wise, you can think of ciders as perhaps a bit more "crisp" and the coolers as a little more mellow, but they are both delicious!
What kinds of flavours are available?

How sweet are they?
Here's the beauty of our coolers and ciders: we can customize the sweetness to YOUR specification. From mouth-puckering-dry to super-duper-saccharine, we will blend them up whatever way you want! Never fear if you're not sure what to ask for, we use a default sweetening level of medium-dry... just enough sugar to bring out the natural fruit flavour and give you a happy well-rounded beverage.
How big is a batch?
All batches are 48 liters. This translates to at least 96 (500ml) plastic bottles OR if you think in terms of commercial coolers, you'll get 12 DOZEN (340ml) glass bottles. You can use 500ml, 1 liter or 2 liter plastic bottles, OR you can use glass - totally up to you.
How long does it take to make?
We mix up the batch and then you pitch the yeast on it. That takes about 5 minutes here in the shop. Then it ferments for 32 days. You can bottle it any time after that.
Can you make it for me?
No. We can mix up the batch for you but you must come in to pitch the yeast on it and to start fermentation. Doing anything else violates our licensing. Sorry!
How much does it cost?
Sorry, it is illegal for brew-on-premise stores to openly publish prices. Please email or call us for a full run-down on the costs associated with making a batch.
What ingredients go into it?
Ciders use apple juice and fruit flavourings. The coolers use wine and fruit flavourings. All the flavours and colours are %100 natural. There are no additives or preservatives in anything that comes out of our shop.
What's the shelf life of my cider and cooler?
Better storage = longer shelf life. Some place cool and dark is best. A fridge is ideal. No spare fridge? Try a nice cool, dim room. Garages are notoriously bad because of temperature fluctuations. With good storage, your ciders and coolers should last 6 months or longer.
Do you make red wine coolers?
Our normal cooler base is a white wine. But if you are making a berry or cherry cooler, we recommend that you ask for our red wine base. Your flavour will be deeper, more robust and richer in character. Give it a try!
What's included in my price?
All taxes and caps are included. We sell bottles here or you can bring in your own.
Can I use glass or plastic bottles?
You can use glass or plastic. Some people prefer their coolers in glass or their ciders in big 2 liter bottles. It's up to you!
What are "Reward Points"? How do I use them?
Every batch you make has a "point value". Every time you make a purchase, our computer automatically adds up your points. You can then trade your points for various things. Good deal! Ask us about it.
Can I wash my bottles at home?
Sure. Hot water is great. No soaps or detergents please. They can leave a film and make your coolers and ciders taste funny.
