Beer Walk Through

The Process:

Crafting beer at Caribou Brewmasters is simple. All you have to do is:

  • Choose your beer from our Wall of Recipes.
  • Mix all of the ingredients in one of our kettles and boil it up.
  • After we pull it off, you add (pitch) the yeast - It’s the law. (And no, we can’t do it for you. Sorry).
  • We'll monitor fermentation and take care of the filtering and carbonating.
  • You come in and bottle your beer after the completion date.
  • Invite some friends over and enjoy!

Or, for an additional $10, we can make the wort for you.  All you have to do is come down and pitch the yeast.

Please check our FAQ or contact us. Our knowledgeable staff can answer any of your questions about the beer making process.

Our Beers

Caribou Brewmasters has something to suit your taste AND your budget.  Delicious beers of every variety that will put many a commercial bottle to shame.  From pilsners to porters, we have something for everyone!

Bottling

If you don’t have any bottles, we can certainly sell you some. Plastic brown, clear or green bottles are always in stock, as are 350ml glass bottles.  Fancy glass bottles with flip tops are also available by special order but cost a bit more.

You can bring in your own beer bottles (no screw tops) but make sure they are clean clean clean! We always give you an hour and a half of bottling time per batch. This is plenty of time to sanitize, fill and cap your bottles.

And please, book your bottling appointment at least 24- 48 hours ahead. We tend to fill up fast.

Storing and Caring for Your Beer

When you get your beer home, make sure you store your beers in a cool, dark place.  The enemies are heat, light and vibration.  Avoid them and your beer should last for 3 months or more.

Ale, stout and porters are usually served at room temperature. Pilsners and lagers are generally served chilled.

Rinse your bottles thoroughly after enjoying their contents and leave upside down to dry. Just remember that moisture is the enemy of proper bottle maintenance and you will be able to refill and enjoy them for years to come.

If you feel the need to clean your bottles, contact us for a list of acceptable products, and resist the urge to use soap - anything that has soaps will be hard to rinse.
